The Manpada police in Dombivli have arrested a 42-year-old man who had been absconding after allegedly killing a man in West Bengal in February. The accused has been identified as Sirajuddin Shahid Shah, alias Kaptan (42), who was hiding in Pisavli village in Manpada, Kalyan East.

According to the police, an FIR had been filed against Anil Mintu Saw (33) and his friend Sirajuddin Shahid Shah, alias Kaptan, at the Dankuni police station in West Bengal under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and relevant sections of the Arms Act. The deceased has been identified as Banty Rajkumar Saw (32). The police suspect that the murder was triggered by an alleged illicit relationship with Saw’s wife.

The Dankuni police in West Bengal launched an investigation into the murder case and arrested Anil Saw, while Kaptan fled the city after the incident. The West Bengal police later received information that Kaptan was hiding in Manpada and working as a labourer in the Dombivli MIDC.

Subsequently, the West Bengal police contacted the Manpada police station and shared the accused’s details. The local police alerted informers and soon received a tip-off about Kaptan's whereabouts. The Manpada police then laid a trap and apprehended Kaptan, who was handed over to the West Bengal police.
