COVID-19 in Mumbai: BMC seals 'Prithvi Apartments' building located at Altamount Road - Watch Video

The BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has sealed 'Prithvi Apartments' building located at Altamount Road, South Mumbai as few people were found COVID-19 positive, ANI reported.

Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty resides in the building. However, as per the information shared by BMC Assistant Commissioner Prashant Gaikwad Sunil Shetty's entire family is safe.

Meanwhile, the city reported 555 new Covid cases on Sunday, taking the total tally to 7,27,696. The maximum city also recorded 15 deaths due to the virus in the last 24 hours, pushing its cumulative case count to 15,627 as per data released by the BMC.

A total of 666 patients recovered and were discharged on Sunday, taking the recovery count to 7,02,376. Now, there are 7,354 active cases in the city. Meanwhile, the doubling rate in the city has increased to 928 days, while the weekly growth rate has declined to 0.07%.
As of Sunday, 68 buildings have been sealed. The recovery rate of the Mumbai district has increased to 96%.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra recorded 8,535 new cases on Sunday, taking the number of active cases to 1,16,165. Besides, 156 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the number of total cumulative fatalities to 1,25,878.

A total of 6,013 patients were discharged, taking the tally to 59,12,479. The recovery rate in the state jumped to 96.02 %, whereas the overall case fatality rate in the state is 2.04%.
