Another rail fracture on CR
Mumbai: A day after a rail fracture disrupted services at Ulhasnagar, the passengers on the Central Railway were held up at due to another rail fracture between Ambernath and Badlapur on Tuesday at 8:16 pm.
Following the rail fracture six services on the down line were running late by 20 to 25 minutes. The services on the up as well as down line was delayed. To add to the misery, there was a signal failure on the slow down line on platform no 1 at Kurla, which delayed services between 3:51 pm and 4:16 pm. The passengers were held up at the station, as there were no train coming in. CR PRO A K Singh said, “ The point no.131 at Kurla was non functional after which two trains were delayed. The point was for set for the car shed and did not revert to normal due to which trains were held up. No cancellation were made in any cases.”

Gutkha cache seized at Mumbai Central
Mumbai: A man claiming himself to be a member of a Parliamentary advisory committee was nabbed with gutka worth Rs 35 lakh at Mumbai Central railway station. He along with four others members were trying to sail through the railways and showed their identity cards to the police. Name of the accused are Sarabjit Soni (26), Anwar Hussain (34), Ravi Chandra Shetty (45), Rajkumar Koli (21) and Arif Mubin Qureshi (20). “We however were surprised on why would a member of parliamentary committee not allow police to carry out search operations. When we scrutinized the identity cards of the culprits a spelling mistake made them detect that they were fake ID’s. ‘R’ was missing from the spelling of Parliamentary,” said Rajendra Trivedi, senior police inspector of government railway police.
They were also carrying fake press cards along with the cards of government positions. “We are trying to find out where else they have used the cards for undue purposes,” added Trivedi.

12-year-old held for baby’s rape
Mumbai: A six year-old girl was sexually assaulted by her neighbour on Tuesday. The police said that victim was sent for a medical examination for rape after a scar was found on her private parts. The incident happened at Shivaji Nagar, Govandi when the baby accompanied her sister to a neighborhood house. “When the girl was brought to us she was in a very feeble condition. Her pulse count was very low and she was in a state of trauma. Her vaginal swabs have been taken for examination. We are suspecting that its a rape case,” said a doctor from Rajawadi Hospital requesting anonymity. After the confirmation from the doctors, a 12-year-old neighbour was detained by the cops.
