Mumbai: Mumbai rail commuters will face significant disruption this Saturday-Sunday night as Central Railway suspends suburban services and short-terminates several long-distance trains for overnight infrastructure work, including the demolition of the Prabhadevi Road Over Bridge between Parel and Currey Road stations.

Suburban services between CSMT and Dadar will remain suspended from 10.30 pm on Saturday (April 4) until 6 am on Sunday. Separately, services between Thane and Dombivli will be intermittently cancelled from midnight to 10 am as railway teams carry out platform extension work at both stations. Several trains, including the Konark Express, Howrah Mail, and Hussein Sagar Express, will be short-terminated at Thane or Panvel instead of running into CSMT.

Western Railway will simultaneously carry out a jumbo maintenance block on fast lines between Mumbai Central and Mahim from 12.15 am to 4.15 am, rerouting all fast-line trains via the slow line between Santacruz and Churchgate. A separate major block on the fifth line between Bandra Terminus and Bandra will run through the entire weekend.
