Mumbai: Central Railway has made it clear that the Dadar-Ratnagiri Passenger Train will continue to operate from Diva station and will not be shifted back to Dadar soon. Central Railway General Manager Prateek Goswami said at a press conference in Mumbai on Thursday that the move would only be reconsidered after the fifth and sixth lines between Kurla and CSMT are completed. .
The train was originally moved to Diva because its crossover from suburban to main line required halting seven to eight local trains, severely disrupting schedules. Railway officials claim the shift has since allowed additional locals and mail/express services to be introduced.

However, passenger groups remain unconvinced. "If the administration is citing the fifth-sixth line, why wasn't the train shifted to LTT instead?" asked Akshay Mahapadi, Secretary of the Akhand Konkan Railway Passengers Committee, questioning why services are shrinking rather than expanding.
