As part of its 20th Foundation Day celebrations, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) launched a state-level electrical safety campaign titled “Bright Maharashtra, Safe Maharashtra”, engaging over 1.97 lakh participants including citizens, school students, engineers, officers, and employees as Safety Ambassadors across Maharashtra.

The week-long Electrical Safety Campaign saw an array of awareness activities:

Electrical Safety Pledge:

Over 34,000 engineers, officers, and employees across the state simultaneously took the electrical safety pledge on 6th June from 10:00 AM to 10:15 AM.

Marathons in 16 Circles:

Organized to spread the message of safety, these marathons witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 11,323 engineers, officers, and staff, including senior officials such as Director (HR) Rajendra Pawar and Executive Director Paresh Bhagwat.

Online Safety Quiz:

Hosted on MSEDCL’s website and mobile app, the quiz on household and public electrical safety attracted responses from 95,292 participants—including 10,827 school students and 84,466 citizens and employees. All received online certificates of participation.

Competitions for Students:

Essay and drawing contests on electrical safety were held at 146 divisional offices for school students. A total of 7,857 entries were received, with winners awarded prizes and certificates.

Public Awareness Drives:

To reach the masses directly:

59,000+ engineers, officers, and employees conducted outreach drives at bus stands, railway stations, marketplaces, crowded areas, and housing societies, engaging with lakhs of citizens.

Street plays and leaflet distribution were organised to effectively communicate key electrical safety messages.

Mass Communication Efforts:

Electrical safety advisories were sent to:

1.92 crore customers via SMS.

35.73 lakh customers via email detailing do’s and don’ts of electrical safety.

Bike Rallies and Morning Processions:

Bike rallies and morning marches were organized in various regions to draw public attention towards electrical safety practices.

World Environment Day 

Energy conservation tips and messages were disseminated across the state.
