Mumbai: Nawab Malik has been entrusted to lead the NCP’s election management committee for the upcoming elections to the BMC.
BJP Expressed Concerns Over Malik
The BJP had some serious reservations about Malik, who was quite aggressive as the spokesman of the unified NCP. Facing allegations for purchasing properties related to a close associate of Dawood Ebrahim, he was probed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Political Comeback Through Family Success
Though his association with the Ajit Pawar-led NCP was opposed by the BJP in general and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in particular, Malik made a sort of comeback when his daughter successfully contested the state assembly elections on the NCP ticket.
