Mumbai: Indian cricket commentator and journalist, Harsha Bhogle in a recent X post said that the 'biggest' traffic offenders are government vehicles as he witnessed a BMC vehicle disobeying traffic rules by driving in the wrong lane and cutting the red light. He further mentions that he has also noted down the number on the number plate of the vehicle and would provide it to the authorities 'if they are interested'.

A recent post made by the well-known Indian cricket commentator and journalist, Harsha Bhogle stated that government vehicles are biggest traffic rule violators in Mumbai while tagging the official account of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) X account: "The biggest traffic offenders in Mumbai are government vehicles. Just saw a BMC vehicle driving in the wrong lane and cutting a red light. @mybmc, I can give you the number if you are interested at all."

Mumbai Traffic Police Responds

The post made in the early hours of the afternoon on February 28, quickly saw a surge of views and reposts on the tweet which also grabbed the attention of the Mumbai Traffic Police. The official account of Mumbai Traffic Police responded with an enquiry to the exact location of the happening so they can proceed with 'necessary action'

The official account of Mumbai Traffic Police commented on Harsha Bhogle's X post stating, "Please provide the exact location for necessary action" appealing Bhogle to provide information about the precise location where the incident took place leading to investigation on the offender.

BMC Regularly Violates Traffic Rules

This was not the first time when a BMC vehicle or may government vehicle was caught violating traffic rules. One such incident took place in 2023 where someone recorded a BMC water tanker speeding and breaking traffic signal.

The user who posted the complaint on X about the BMC water tank (@jituk9), stated that the violations take place regularly in the Gamadia Tardeo area in Mumbai. User also stated that Mumbai police has failed to take required actions even after multiple complaints.
