Bakri Eid 2025: Bhiwandi To Set Up 56 Slaughter Centers, Deploy 86 Vets And Launch Multi-Agency Festive Plan

Officials stated that in previous years, 56 temporary slaughter centers were established in Bhiwandi, and the same number is expected this year. The setup will require around 200 tempos, 14 JCBs, and 11 cranes.

The Bhiwandi Nizampura City Municipal Corporation, in a meeting led by Municipal Commissioner Anmol Sagar, held a coordination session with various agencies regarding preparations for Bakri Eid, scheduled from June 7 to June 9. As per the directions of the Bombay High Court, Commissioner Sagar reviewed the preparations during a meeting held on Thursday at the headquarters. The session was chaired by Administrator and Commissioner Anmol Sagar and was attended by officials from the Municipal Corporation, Police Department, and Veterinary Department.

According to civic officials, Commissioner Sagar interacted with officers from the Construction Department, Water Supply Department, Vehicle Department, Health Department, Veterinary Department, and Police Department to assess the festival preparations.

Officials stated that in previous years, 56 temporary slaughter centers were established in Bhiwandi, and the same number is expected this year. The setup will require around 200 tempos, 14 JCBs, and 11 cranes. Additionally, 25 water tankers will be deployed for post-slaughter cleaning. A total of 86 veterinary doctors will be available during the slaughtering process to inspect animals beforehand.

The Police Department has also made arrangements for maintaining law and order and has held discussions with Maulanas and representatives of the Kasai Sanghatana regarding the festival. Commissioner Sagar directed the Health Department to assign vehicles to each ward for the collection of animal waste and to ensure the timely cleaning of slaughter sites. The Water Department was instructed to remain available for washing down areas after the slaughtering. Following this, the Health Department will be responsible for spraying disinfectants and applying bleaching powder.

Present at the meeting were Additional Municipal Commissioners Devidas Pawar and Vitthal Dake; Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. Sachin Sangle; Balkrishna Kshirsagar; City Engineer Jamil Patel; Assistant Commissioner (Health) Shailesh Donde; Senior Police Inspector Vishwas Dagle; Chief Medical Officer Sandeep Gadekar; along with other senior officers and department heads of the Municipal Corporation.
