Thane: The Kasarvadavali Traffic Sub-Division under the Thane Municipal Corporation has issued a traffic advisory due to ongoing Mumbai Metro Line 4 construction work. The project, being carried out by MMRDA through J. Kumar Infraprojects Ltd, will involve I & U girder work and T & L precast work on selected stretches of Ghodbunder Road during the night, from 11 PM to 4 AM, from June 22 to July 14.
The work will take place in two key zones:
From Nagalabunder Signal to Indian Oil Pump and from Nagalabunder to Bhayanderpada. During this period, sections of the main road on the Thane-Ghodbunder stretch will be temporarily closed to heavy vehicles at specific points to facilitate construction activities.
The traffic advisory aims to prevent congestion and ensure smooth vehicular movement for commuters and residents in the area. The notification, issued by Pankaj Shirsat, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Department, Thane City.
Details about the entry closures and alternative routes:
Entry Closed: Thane Ghodbunder Channel to Gaimukh Station. All heavy vehicles going towards Ghodbunder while working on & U Grider are being 'Entry Closed' near Pillar No. 85.
Alternative Route: Thane Ghodbunder Channel to Gaimukh Station. All heavy vehicles going towards Ghodbunder while working on & U Grider will proceed from Pillar No. 85 in the opposite direction to Podbandar Thane Main Road and then take a right turn from Pillar No. 102 and then proceed to the desired place via the main road in front of Indian Oil Pump.
Podbandar Thane Channel to Gaimukh Station & U Grider work: all types of light vehicles will go through the service road near Pillar No. 85 and then proceed to the desired destination on the main road in front of the Indian Oil Pump.
Entry Closed: During the girder work on Podbandar Thane channel, all types of vehicles going towards Thane are being 'Entry Closed' near Nagla Bandar and Asha Wine Shop.
Alternative route: Nagla Bandar on Ghodbunder Thane channel. & U Grider work, all types of vehicles will go through Nagla Bandar Depot 72, 73 and Asha Wine Shop from here and then proceed to the desired destination on the main road at Lodha Splendra Ghodbunder Thane channel.
The mentioned advisory will not apply to essential service vehicles, including: Police vehicles, fire brigade vehicles, ambulances, pre-corridor oxygen gas vehicles and other essential service vehicles.
