T the Bharat Bijlee Junction underpass in Airoli will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic for two consecutive nights due to the launching work of a Road Over Bridge (ROB) at Prabuddha Chowk, near the fire brigade building at the end of the Airoli-Mulund creek bridge. The work, being carried out by J Kumar Infra Projects Ltd., requires the assembly of a heavy crane at the site.

As per a notification issued by the Rabale Traffic Division, the underpass will be closed from 10 pm on April 15 to 7 am on April 16 and again from 10 pm on April 16, to 7 am on April 17. The order has been enforced under the authority granted to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Navi Mumbai, Tirupati Kakade, as per provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act and a Maharashtra Government Home Department notification.

“Traffic and parking will be prohibited in the area during the specified time to facilitate the safe execution of the ROB launch. This restriction applies to all vehicles except those operated by J Kumar Infra Projects Ltd,” said the notification.

To ensure smooth movement of traffic, alternate routes have been suggested. Vehicles traveling from Belapur-Thane Road via Bharat Bijlee Signal towards Airoli sectors 1 to 5 should turn left at the Airoli Station underpass to reach their destinations. Similarly, vehicles approaching sectors 1 to 5 from Bharat Bijlee should proceed via the T-Point and turn right at Khedekar Chowk to access their routes.

Authorities have urged motorists to follow the diversions and cooperate with traffic officials during the temporary closure to avoid inconvenience and ensure safety.
