Mumbai: A case of rape and murder has been registered with Worli police station after an injured body of a 9-year-old girl was found in an area which is within 100 meters distance from her resident under the jurisdiction of Worli police station.

Sushil Ingle, police inspector from Worli police station said, “The family of the victim belongs to lower class and they live on a footpath on Dainik Shivner Marg at Worli. However, the whole family along with the victim had slept together on Monday night after dinner but after they got up in the morning at 6.30 am they couldn’t find the girl.”

Later after the family members started looking out for the 9-year-old girl, they witnessed an injured body of the girl in unconscious condition within 100 meters distance from her resident. “After they found the body they informed police control room about the incident after which a wireless van went to the spot and the 9-year-old girl was right away rushed to Nair Hospital. The girl was declared dead after admission,” added an officer. During medical examination, it came to light that the victim was earlier raped and then murdered.  (FPJ TEAM)
