Mumbai: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Mumbai Police has registered a case against nine accused, including developers, partners, and a real estate agent, for allegedly duping more than 200 homebuyers of approximately Rs.32 crore in an SRA redevelopment housing project in Borivali.
The complainant, Anil Kochunni Mambily (55), a resident of Vaishnavi Co-operative Housing Society, Borivali West, alleged that the accused lured buyers into booking flats in two housing projects — Vastu Nakshatra and Swagatam — under the SRA Co-operative Housing Society Ltd redevelopment scheme at Devi Pada, Borivali East.
According to the FIR, despite collecting booking amounts from around 200 customers, the developers failed to hand over possession of the flats or refund the booking money. The accused include Amogh Enterprises, Udaykumar Singh – Partner, Nirman Developers, Gautam Pandey, Nikhilkumar Singh, Hitesh Soni – Real Estate Agent, Soni Properties, Vishal Soni, Mukesh Pandey – Director, GSP Developers Pvt. Ltd., Sunil Pandey
And Right Biltech Pvt. Ltd.
The FIR further states that even after Right Biltech Pvt. Ltd. went into insolvency proceedings before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), the accused failed to disclose information regarding the complainant’s flat booking to the NCLT court.
The case has been registered with the permission of the Joint Commissioner of Police (EOW) and has been assigned to the Economic Offences Wing for investigation. The site was inspected by senior officials, with Sub-Inspector Tharat designated as the investigating officer.
