3 Bangladeshi Nationals Convicted For Illegal Stay In Mumbai, Ordered To Be Deported

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Fort, has convicted three Bangladeshi citizens for living illegally in Malad East, and sentenced them to three months’ imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 500 on each of them. Additionally, the court has ordered their deportation from India.

Mumbai: The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Fort, has convicted three Bangladeshi citizens for living illegally in Malad East, and sentenced them to three months’ imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 500 on each of them. Additionally, the court has ordered their deportation from India.

The action was initiated by the Kurar Police Station. According to the police, on January 9, a Bangladeshi male was apprehended from the Western Express Highway in Malad East, under the Times of India Bridge. Subsequently, on March 7, two women were caught outside the gate of the Omkar SRA Building located in Kurar village, Malad East.

During interrogation, none of them were found in possession of valid documents. The police stated that after completing their prison term, the accused will be deported to Bangladesh. The individuals have been identified as Shubham Sardar, Mehrun Sardar, and Alpna Sardar.

They were doing small jobs in the city. Under Zone 12, a total of 27 cases have been registered against Bangladeshi citizens living illegally since January, in which 33 individuals have been arrested so far. Last year, over thousands such cases were registered across the city
