24-year-old held for mobile theft in Panvel

The Panvel City police arrested a 24-year-old man from Thane and recovered a stolen mobile phone from him. One more accused involved in theft with the arrested accused is at large and police have launched a manhunt.

The arrested accused was identified as Rohit Deepak Patil, a resident of Thane. According to police, Patil along with his friend Rishikesh Chachre, a resident of Thane had come in a motorbike in the Panvel area and stolen two high-end mobile phones from a shop.

Later, the police, with the help of CCTV footage and technical analysis, caught Patil from Thane. However, his accomplice Chachere managed to flee. The police recovered one of the mobile phones from him and started searching for Chachere.
