Ujjain: Officials take stock of preparations for Snan Parv

Ujjain: Hundreds of devotees are expected to arrive at Kaliadeh Palace (KD Palace) on the occasion of Bhutadi Amavasya on Friday to take dips in river Kshipra. Villagers take dips at Bawan Kund located in the area and in river Kshipra to get rid of evil spirits on this auspicious day.  Ahead of the festival, divisional commissioner Ajeet Kumar, IG Rakesh Gupta, collector Shashank Mishra, SP Sachin Atulkar, municipal commissioner Pratibha Pal, CEO zila panchayat Nilesh Parikh and other officials concerned inspected the KD Palace and reviewed the arrangements.

The officials were instructed to take all necessary measures to facilitate the devotees in performing rituals on the religious festival. The officials were also instructed to maintain cleanliness in the area, installation of temporary changing rooms, lighting arrangements and mobile toilets.

According to sources, Narmada water was released from Dewas dam two days ago and it already reached at Triveni. Sources said the water from Gaughat dam was also released. The administration also made arrangements for showers for the devotees to take bath. The divisional commissioner also instructed the officers to ensure clean surroundings at the KD palace.
