Ujjain: Karni Sena demands 10% quota, submits memorandum

Ujjain: Karni Sena on Tuesday handed over a memorandum addressed to chief minister Kamal Nath to the collector. The Sena is demanding 10 per cent reservation in state government jobs for economically weaker sections of upper classes of the society.

Members of the Karni Sena also demanded to withdraw the police cases registered against Sena’s activists during the screening of the controversial movie ‘Padmawat’. Karni Sena members gheraoed the collector office and shouted slogans against the state government and Kamal Nath.

They also warned the state government to interrupt movements of ministers and MLAs of ruling party if their demands are not met. Swati Singh made rural Congress head Madhya Pradesh Karni Sena control officer Swati Singh was made Ujjain district rural head with the consent of National Women Congress head Sushmita Dev. Her appointment was made by party state head Mandavi Chouhan. Senior Congress leader Batukshankar Joshi, MLA Mahesh Parmar and other party members congratulated her on the appointment.
