Ujjain: With start of government purchase of crops on minimum support price (MSP) at Chimanganjganj Krishi Upaj Mandi and other purchase centres in the district, divisional commissioner Ajeet Kumar and collector Shashank Mishra on Tuesday inspected silos at Lalpur and took stock of arrangements for warehousing the crops. According to officials, the government will purchase the crops on MSP till May 25.
Both the senior officials instructed the officials concerned to provide smooth atmosphere to farmers during crop purchase. The commissioner also took stock of arrangements for supplying meal on discounted rates at purchase centres to the farmers. The commissioner checked minutely registration system of farmers. Kumar said that 50,000 metric tons of wheat can be warehoused at the silos and these silos are connected to the purchase centres.
Collector reviews pending cases
Collector Shashank Mishra convened ‘time limit’ review meeting on Tuesday at Simhash fair authority office and reviewed department wise pending cases and complaints. The collector told department heads not to keep complaints/ cases pending unnecessarily. Additional collector Rishabh Shukla, ADM RP Tiwari and other officials attended the meeting.
