SHAGUN GANDHI returns fresh from the fest, full of fash inspiration

Nineties are back!
Gauri and Nainika unveiled their collection, The Art of Latte, which saw free flowing silhouettes in shades of red, pink, and blushing nudes, interspersed with bold floral prints and high low dresses with floor sweeping trains, teamed with high boots.

Hats & power dressing
Stylish hats are here to stay and take your outfit several notches up. Power dressing with pant suits are so trendy and stylish today, and it is time we realise there is so much more to them than just a corporate look. Small, subtle, embroidered, accessorised—there’s a whole range to go gaga over. The Woolmark Company by Péro and Bhuttico displayed a wonderful show at LFW of a whole range of power dressing and hats.

Shorts suits
The menswear champion designer, Ashish Soni presented an entire line-up dedicated to men. The focal point was the suit, remixed in every way possible – including a short suit.

Sneakers
The sneaker trend has been everybody’s favourite for a while now. The best part is that it is no longer restricted to just wearing them with your distressed jeans. Pair them with your kurtas and skirts to spice up the traditional look. For a stylish definition, roll up your pants or go for ankle-length skirts.

Dreamy drapes
There’s nobody better than the fashion queen Anita Dongre to show us how to drape dupattas in different ways. The ’90s love for dupattas is back, and it’s time you go crazy styling them. Drape it around your shoulders, tie a scarf-like knot for a contemporary twist, or try sheer fabrics to amp up this look.

Velvety elegance
Payal Singhal’s renaissance tops, moony hues and her use of velvet in her silhouettes has definitely been a rage. This will be the best choice for the fun brides and their entourage of bridesmaids.

Bandhgala
It’s time to get rid of your boring pin-tucked shirt and embrace the kurta and tux layering for a black tie do! Ace designer Raghavendra Rathore brings the classic bandgalas back and also makes it gender-neutral.

Checkered affair
Checks are the most crucial of the design world, one can never go wrong with it. Try them in pantsuits, in dresses and long kurtas to get the best out of this trend.
