India’s badminton champion PV Sindhu is officially married! Sharing the joyous news, she posted photos of her special day with her husband, Venkata Datta Sai, accompanied by a heart emoji. The intimate wedding ceremony took place in Udaipur, attended by close family and friends.
A stunning Ivory look for the wedding ceremony
For the main wedding ceremony, Sindhu opted for an exquisite ivory tissue sari designed by ace designer Manish Malhotra. The designer revealed on Instagram.
“A bridal vision brought to life, Padma Bhushan awardee Smt. PV Sindhu @pvsindhu1 dons our luminous signature handcrafted tissue #MMSaree from our EVARA collection, replete with intricate badla and zardozi detailing,” the caption read.
The sari was complemented by a matching blouse featuring intricate embroidery with inlay leaf patterns. Adding an extra touch of heritage and romance, Sindhu wore a head veil bordered with zari and inscribed with her and her husband’s names.
Regal accessories to complete the look
Sindhu’s bridal ensemble was accessorised with a multi-tiered heirloom necklace crafted in 18k gold, adorned with Zambian emeralds and uncut diamonds. She also wore matching earrings, bangles, a traditional maathapatti, and haathphool, giving her a timeless bridal look.
Manish Malhotra described the overall vibe as “an homage to romance and heritage.”
A coordinated look for the groom
The groom, Venkata Datta Sai, complemented Sindhu’s ivory attire by wearing a traditional ivory brocade sherwani and dhoti, also designed by Manish Malhotra. His look was completed with a stole, a shaffa, and an Imperial Heirloom emerald and diamond necklace, along with jewelled buttons.
Malhotra shared, “The groom personifies regality in our brocade sherwani and dhoti.”
