Pariksha Pe Charcha: PM Modi Advocates Importance Of Millets & Vegetables For Proper Nutrition

The eighth edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC) is taking place today, February 10, 2025, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be engaging with students, teachers, and parents. The event aims to ease students' stress and offer guidance to help them achieve their aspirations.

Alongside PM Modi, the session will feature Bollywood actors Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey, spiritual leader Sadhguru, Olympian Mary Kom, and Paralympic gold medallist Avani Lekhara.

During his session with students at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, PM Modi exphasises on the importance of nutrition for good health and cognitive function. He also explained why consuming millets and seasonal vegetables is important for the body.

PM Modi on the importance of seasonal food

PM Modi greeted the students for the session and treated them with 'Til Ladoos' to begin the session. He then asked the students if they knew why people consume sesame during winters to which the students replied, "Til keeps our body warm".

He then enlightened the students about the importance of consuming millets and acknowledged the fact that The United Nations declared 2023 as the 'International year of Millets' and how it promoted India worldwide. He mentioned how the Government of India is keen on spreading awareness about nutrition because the natural produce available in India has the power to eliminate multiple diseases from the core and build resistance in a way where the disease is not formed int he first place.

PM advocates eating habits

PM Modi's interaction with the students turned out to be insightful as he not only answered their questions regarding exam preparation but also focused on the importance of proper nutrition, food requirements for body and timely meals.

'When to eat, what to eat and how to eat' are the three basic questions he answered for the students. "Farmers in India wake up early in the morning and have a big meal, work throughout the day, snack on something minimal, come home and have their dinner before sunset. This habit of consuming meals on the right time not only helps them with digestion but also gives them healthier and longer life.
