International Yoga Day 2025: Bengaluru's Akshar Yoga Kendraa Aims For 12 Guinness World Records

In a landmark effort to mark the 11th International Yoga Day, Akshar Yoga Kendraa will spearhead one of the largest global yoga events on June 21, 2025. The event, set to take place in Bengaluru, is expected to feature 2,000 to 2,500 participants from more than 30 countries, with the ambitious goal of breaking 12 Guinness World Records in a single day.

Representatives from countries including the USA, UK, Taiwan, Malaysia, Italy, and Dubai will gather for the occasion. The diverse mix of participants ranges from yoga practitioners and Indian defence personnel to corporate leaders, differently-abled individuals, children from orphanages, and NCC cadets.

This inclusive gathering underscores yoga’s increasing relevance as a global practice for health, harmony, and inner transformation.

Led by Himalayan Siddhaa Akshar

The event is being organised under the guidance of spiritual teacher and yoga expert, Himalayan Siddhaa Akshar. Known for championing yoga education and wellness, Akshar emphasized the symbolic nature of the record attempt.
“This mega-attempt is a symbol of purposeful living. Each record represents focus, inner strength, and the power of intention,” he said.

From asanas to endurance

The record attempts will involve coordinated performances of advanced yogic postures and breathing exercises. Preparations are already underway, with participants undergoing intense training in asanas, pranayama, and meditative practices.

Akshar Yoga Kendraa, accredited by India’s Ministry of AYUSH, claims a footprint across 80+ countries and a practitioner base of over 20 million people. The institution works with organizations such as the Indian Army, Air Force, BSF, Karnataka Police, Infosys, Amazon, and Wipro, among others.

The event echoes the 2025 International Yoga Day theme, “One Earth, One Health,” and supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of yoga as a bridge to global well-being.
