A foreign traveller is winning hearts online after sharing a video that honours India’s natural beauty, delicious cuisine, and warm hospitality, challenging common stereotypes about the country.

'India is more than Dirty Over-populated Slums'

Posted on Instagram by user vanboys222, who has 285K followers, the video shows him enjoying a serene waterfall in the mountains.

Check out the video below:

He captioned it, "India is more than Dirty Over-populated Slums, this country has the best food & beautiful nature. Local Indians love hosting and have the BEST hospitality. Nothing beats Philippines but I love India and can’t wait to come back to meet more people, still haven’t met an Indian woman but there’s always next time!"

'One of my favourite countries'

In the clip, he asks viewers, "Does India look dirty and polluted to you? This is one of my favourite countries, it's the cheapest, it's got amazing people, amazing different climates. I’m in the mountains right now at a waterfall." He also adds, "All the propaganda you see about India is just a little bit of the truth. I mean look at this place."

Netizens react

The video has sparked a wave of positive reactions. One user wrote, "I been to India many times & it never ceases to amaze me from the majestic Himalayas to the beautiful beaches of Kerala to the cultural diversity of people in India from Northeast to Ladakh to the South of India. The land of melting pot of all religions, cultures, ethnicity & humanity."

Another commented, "Love and respect to you️.. You spilling all the real truth to the world… Don’t forget South India’s Kerala—it’s called God’s own country for its natural beauty."

Others praised his open-minded perspective, with one noting, "Whenever I talk about wanting to go to India people tell me bad things, but they never tell you the good ones. Thank you bro."

From Mizoram to Kerala, the traveler’s message has struck a chord with Indians across regions, showing that sometimes, the best way to counter misconceptions is to simply share the beauty you see.
