Being of the right weight is essential for staying healthy. Whether one is overweight or underweight, both come with their share of problems. While there are numerous ways to shed those extra kilos, it becomes a little difficult to gain health weight -- if one is underweight that is.

If one is underweight (BMI under 18.5), one might feel tired all the time or fatigue might stop you from performing daily tasks properly. Anaemia, osteoporosis and period troubles can rise, which is dangerous in the long run.

Skin, teeth and hair also being to lose texture become dull. Hair fall arises. One will often fall ill. Given the lack of strength, the body won’t be able to fight illnesses. How to gain healthy weight

1. Frequent healthy eating: Eat healthy and nutritious food in smaller portions around five to six times a day. Eat only when hungry. Do no consume junk food. Your diet must contain healthy calories. Foods rich in healthy calories include milk, smoothies, juice, avocado, whole wheat bread, banana, chick peas, rice, nuts and nuts butter, salmon, potatoes, among others.

2. Exercise: Once food is sorted, focus on building muscles through proper exercises. Strength training removes excess fat and builds muscle.

3. Stay hydrated: Drinking the right amount of water at the right time reduces chances of dehydration and remove toxins from the body. Make water intake interesting by opting for naturally flavoured water (put fruits of your choices in the water and drink that). Juices without sugar and saccharine are also a good alternative.

4. Increase protein intake: Support the diet by including protein, which helps strengthen muscles. Eat eggs, nuts, dairy items, fatty fish, red meat and more.
