If you thought 51 meant slowing down, Hrithik Roshan is here to redefine your expectations, one perfectly sculpted bicep at a time. The Bollywood superstar, long hailed as the industry’s ‘Greek God’, has once again left audiences speechless with his jaw-dropping transformation for War 2. On screen as Kabir Dhaliwal, his broad shoulders, bulging arms, and V-tapered frame have been making headlines, and fans can’t get enough.
But getting to that level of physical perfection, especially in your 50s, isn’t about luck. It’s about discipline, precision, and smart training — exactly what Hrithik followed, as revealed by his personal fitness trainer, Swapneel Hazare.
How Hrithik Roshan transformed his physique for War 2
Swapneel, in a recent chat with Health Shots, stated that the mission wasn't to reinvent Hrithik but to elevate his on-screen presence. “The core objective was to elevate the character, not reinvent him. We wanted to retain the iconic silhouette but bring more mass, more strength, and a more imposing screen presence,” he explained.
The focus, according to the trainer, was building bigger delts, fuller arms, and a tightly cinched waist to enhance the V-taper, a hallmark of the traditional action hero look.

4-day resistance split training
For War 2, Hrithik followed a classic four-day resistance split:
Day 1: Chest
Day 2: Back
Day 3: Legs
Day 4: Arms (biceps + triceps)
Alongside weight training, steady-state cardio was added to keep body fat low. But it wasn’t just about burning calories; the cardio improved agility, boosted recovery, and ensured his movements looked sharp on camera, as expressed by his trainer.
Functional drills and mobility work were also key. "Without that balance, the physique would have looked heavy and sluggish," said Swapneel. "With it, you get speed, presence, and raw power."
Training smart & prioritising recovery
At 51, Hrithik faced slower recovery, shifting hormones, and old injuries, as mentioned by Swapneel in the same interview. According to him, heavy lifts were swapped for joint-friendly methods like supersets, drop sets, and high-rep training.
Two mobility routines supported dance and fight scenes. Recovery was non-negotiable, with tailored cool-downs and adaptive intensity, ensuring strength, agility, and safety for War 2's demanding action.
Clearly, Hrithik Roshan isn't just maintaining his physique; he’s raising the bar for what’s possible with smart, consistent, and adaptive training. War 2 proves that age might slow some people down, but for Hrithik, it's just another number.
