The five foot seven inches tall Archana Puran Singh can carry off most clothes with elan. The actress and currently special guest on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, talks about her favourite outfits, colours, fabrics and more.

My all-time favourite outfit: A pair of comfortable jeans/ trousers and a loose T-shirt.

My favourite outfit when travelling for my shoots: A shirt that buttons down in the front/ a track top so that it doesn't spoil my make-up and hair when I am taking it off. And comfortable stretch trousers with an elastic band. I usually wear the same three to four outfits repeatedly once I am comfortable in them. I prefer comfort to variety.

My all-time favourite outfit for a formal occasion: A stylish yet comfortable dress or jumpsuit. High heels are almost mandatory nowadays though I wish they weren't! So I wear stilettos. Again they have to be as comfortable as stilettos can be!

I like to sleep in: Soft cotton pyjamas and a loose, large cotton T-shirt.

My favourite colours and fabrics: My favourite fabric is cotton. Light pink and black (as it conceals more than it reveals!) are my favourite colours. And white in the daytime makes me feel fresh.

I have a fetish for: Footwear.

The most expensive outfit I have bought: A Versace suit, smooth and gorgeous. A three-piece suit with a black velvet trouser and a sleeveless waistcoat with a dozen buttons in front. And an amazing shirt-jacket with a belt and buckle. My description doesn't do any justice at all to how beautiful the outfit looked and made me feel. When I sadly outgrew it as I put on a few pounds after I had my kids I passed it on with love to my sister-in-law Seema.

On the first day of my film shoot I wore: Jeans and a T-shirt.

According to me I look best in: A cold shoulder jumpsuit.

According to me the best dressed actresses in the industry are: Tina Munim was always perfectly dressed according to me (in my time). Wonderfully styled and elegant. Today I think many actresses are well turned out ... Alia, Katrina, Anushka. But at the top of my list is Deepika Padukone. She is one impeccably styled actress. Never have I seen her badly turned out. She knows how to carry off even a sack! Kudos. Love her looks. All of them. Always.

According to me the best dressed actors in the industry are: Among male actors I think Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff top my list of well styled actors. Their individual style was awesome. Today I like Ranvir's wacky and highly individualistic sense of dressing however bizarre it may be. And Ranbir Kapoor for his cool quotient.

I would like my man to be dressed in: Smart casuals or a very chic Armani suit.

My favourite brand in jeans: Seven For All Mankind. I wear them all the time.

I like to shop at: Macy's and Bloomingdales in New York. Harrods, Bond Street and Selfridges in London.

My favourite brands in clothes are: DKNY, Armani, Ralph Lauren, Prada.

My wardrobe is incomplete without: My black moccasins which I wear all the time.

My travel bag always has: My slippers, a book, phone and laptop charger.

My handbag always has: My sunglasses and dental floss.

My favourite designers: DKNY, Marc Jacobs, Yacco Marricard, Issey Miyake.

My favourite perfume: Issey Miyake.

My favourite brand in watches: Rolex (I've been wearing the same one since the last 15 years).

My favourite brand in sunglasses: Chanel.

My favourite brand in shoes: Christian Louboutin and Thalia Sodi, Cole Haan.

My favourite brands in make-up are: Kat Von D, Fenty Beauty by Rihanna, MAC.

When doing make-up: I like to conceal my under eyes (dark circles) and highlight my cheekbones.

When not shooting my make-up is: Zero. I don't use make-up. If I go out at night's it's always just a lip gloss and maybe an eyeliner.

My hair care routine is: It’s a simple wash and conditioner followed by a very light blow dry.

I admire the hair of: Deepika Padukone.

My tip on how one must dress: Dress in something that is a combination of style and comfort. Latest fashion trends are not to be followed blindly. I always see what suits my figure, age and occasion.

Tip on make-up: Less is more. A face where the make-up is too obvious is not very attractive. So when in doubt of just how much make-up to do, go for a more natural look.

Tip on hair care: I'm lucky to have good hair. I don't really have many tips except that a regular trim/ cut at a good salon helps you keep a stylish hairstyle.
