Indore: The Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission in courses offered by nearly a dozen teaching departments of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) will be held on Tuesday. Around 17,000 students will take CET-2018, which is to be held for filling up 2,653 seats on UTD campus.

The test will be held in 27 cities including Indore, Dewas, Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Raipur, Jaipur, Allahabad, Kolkata and New Delhi. In all 23 centres have been set up in Indore where 12,700 students will take the examination. CET will be held in two shifts. The morning shift will be held from 10 am to 11.30 am and afternoon shift will be held from 2 pm to 3.30 pm.

In all 8,974 students will take examination in morning shift in the city and 8217 in afternoon shift. CET organising committee chairman Anil Kumar said that two observers have been deployed at each centre to monitor the exam in the city. Through CET, admission will be granted in 48 courses including 19 after-school courses and 29 post-graduation courses.

Student advisory

Besides admit cards, students have been told to bring any one of ID proofs. They include Aadhar, driving licence, election card (original) etc. College ID will also be accepted. Students have been told to reach exam centre two hours in advance. Mobile phone, pager, calculator, digital gadget and other electronic equipments will not be allowed in the examination hall.

Timings in admit cards messed up

A major goof-up occurred during issuance of admit cards to students. In many admit cards the timing of the exams was printed wrong. For Group A and C students, exam is from 10 am but their admit cards showed exam time from 2 pm.

When students, who were regularly checking the university website for CET updates, informed the university about the goof-up on Monday, the university corrected the mistake. A public note was also uploaded on the university website suggesting the students to ignore the timings mentioned on their admit cards and follow the one mentioned on the website.
