Mumbai : Carmelites Sports Club staged a solid recovery to put it across Young XI 2-1 in an engrossing Men’s Premier Division match of the 15th Bandra West Football League 2016, sponsored by Baba Siddique & Jeeshan Siddique and conducted by the BWFA (Bandra West Football Association) and played at the Dr. Norman Lewis Supari Talao, Municipal grounds. After Amir Sayed put Young XI in the lead, Carmelites fought back with two second half goals from Smit Devkar and Faiz Khan to clinch a deserving win and finish in top place in Group-A.

In a well-contested encounter, Young XI stunned the Carmelites citadel in the 15th minute when Sayed after latching on to Akshay Jadhav’s pass from the left cut past a couple of defenders before unleashing a rasping shot past the rival goalkeeper.

Trailing 0-1 at the break, Carmelites came back a transformed side and went all out in search of goals. They found reward early in the second period when Denzil Mascarenhas with a measured pass found Devkar in the clear and the later made no mistake in finding the net for the equalizer.

Carmelites continued to press for another goal and they found success when Faiz Khan did well to head home the winning goal in the final moments of the match.
