Mumbai : Seeded down the order, Bhavitavya Shah rallied from a 0-3 deficit to shock top seed Shubham Ambre in a 4-3 thriller to storm into the men’s semi-finals, in the Matunga Gymkhana 4-Star Mumbai District Ranking Table Tennis Tournament on Saturday.

Staring at defeat, Shah recovered brilliantly to snatch four games in a row for a sensational 6-11, 10-12, 9-11, 11-3, 11-7, 16-14, 11-6 win for the biggest upset in the competition. After dropping the opening game, Shah lost the next two in tight finishes as Ambre looked set to wrap up the match in a high-voltage contest between quality players.
