RATLAM (MADHYA PRADESH): World Environment Day was observed on Saturday by planting saplings at number of places across Ratlam district.
Mission Paryavaran convener Ashwini Sharma said that a sapling plantation programme commenced under which during this rainy season about 5,000 saplings will be planted in the whole district.
A memorandum will also be submitted to the district Administration demanding strict actions against deforestation.
In a plantation programme held on Saturday, Manav Seva Samiti president Mohan Murliwala, Prabal organisaton president Aditi Davesar, BJP district general secretary Pradeep Upadhyay, Kamlesh Mehta, Anuj Sharma, Mukesh Meena, Rakesh Modi, C Chanodiya, M L Nagawat, Dr Priyanka Dabar, Kushagra Ojha, Anmol Sharma, Chetan Madan and others planted saplings, said Sharma.
KHACROD (UJJAIN DISTRICT): On the World Environment Day in Khachrod village of Ujjain district, 20 neem saplings were planted in the presence of Sant Anurag Ramsnehi of Ramdwara Dham while following the Corona guidelines on Saturday.
On Environment Day, the town’s tree lover Rajendra Jain and his associates were felicitated in the presence of SDOP Arvind Singh, station in-charge KP Shukla, sub-inspector RK Singawat and police station staff at Khachrod police station.
