Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The members of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal staged a protest outside Indore collectorate on Saturday, raising concerns about the ongoing violence and atrocities against Hindus in West Bengal.

A large number of VHP and Bajrang Dal workers, along with community leaders, gathered at Rajwada and marched to the Collector's office. There, they submitted a memorandum addressed to the President of India.

‘Intentional attack on Hindus’

The VHP alleged that the West Bengal violence on April 11, was actually a targeted attack on Hindus, even though the Hindu community had no role in the law’s creation.

They claimed over 200 Hindu homes and shops were looted and burned, several people were injured, and three Hindus were brutally killed. More than 500 Hindu families were reportedly forced to escape from Murshidabad.

‘State administration remain silent’

They further accused the state administration of either remaining inactive or even supporting the rioters in some cases. The leaders demanded that the central government take control of the situation and take strict action against those responsible.

According to VHP leaders, violence in West Bengal under the pretext of protesting against the Waqf law is deeply troubling. They alleged that anti-national and anti-Hindu elements are freely spreading violence across the state, particularly targeting Hindus.
