Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Indore district administration has imposed various conditions on the playing of DJs, bands, pressure horns, and other sound amplification devices in the district.
Collector and District Magistrate Asheesh Singh has issued restrictive orders under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defense Code 223 for noise pollution control in Indore. According to the order, the use of DJs, bands, pressure horns, and other sound amplification devices without prior permission is banned during all festive events in the district. Permission must be obtained from the prescribed authority for their use.
Violating the issued order will be considered a punishable offense under Section 223 of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). To comply with noise pollution regulations, a maximum of two medium-sized DJs and loudspeakers may be permitted by the competent authority for any event.
Vendors renting out DJs and loudspeakers are not allowed to provide more than two medium-sized DJs and loudspeakers for any single event.

Additionally, the storage and sale of pressure horns have been completely banned. The sound level must not exceed the standard limit prescribed by the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000. The use of any loudspeakers, DJs, bands, pressure horns, or other sound amplification devices is strictly prohibited between 10 PM and 6 AM.
This order will come into effect from February 6, 2025, and will remain in force until April 5, 2025.
