UMC ELECTIONS 2022: Highest 71.42% polling in ward-1, lowest 42.63% polling in ward-44

As per official data, the highest 71.42% polling was recorded in ward number 1 which is the Bhairavgarh ward. A total of 7,771 persons were entitled to vote and 5v550 actually turned-up to vote. It included 75.06% male and 67.78% female voters.

Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): In the elections held on July 6 for the 54 posts of corporators and one post of mayor in Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC), the highest polling was registered in SC and Muslim-dominated wards. The lowest polling was witnessed in wards where middle, upper, educated and business class people live. In all 59.52 per cent voters exercised their franchise on the polling day on Wednesday. A total of 4, 61, 103 persons were entitled to cast their votes in these elections, but only 2, 74, 432 electorates turned up across the city. It included 1, 43, 800 (62.28%) male and 1, 30, 621 (56.75%) female voters. The counting of votes would be held on July 17 at Ujjain Engineering College.

As per official data, the highest 71.42% polling was recorded in ward number 1 which is the Bhairavgarh ward. A total of 7,771 persons were entitled to vote and 5v550 actually turned-up to vote. It included 75.06% male and 67.78% female voters.

The lowest polling percentage of 42.63 was recorded in ward number 44 which is Dussehra Maidan ward. Here the total electorate was 5,611 whereas only 2,392 of them cast their votes. It included 46.39% of male and 38.86% of female voters.

Ujjain's ward 48 (Nanakheda) has the highest number of voters which is 16,087, but only 8,316 (51.69%) of them used their right. It included 53.85% of male and 49.50 per cent of female voters.

Ward number 38 (Shaheed Park) is the cityís smallest ward according to the number of voters with just 4,487 voters. The polling in this ward was 51.50 per cent. It included 55.04% and 47.85% of male and female voters, respectively.

Comparatively high polling was witnessed in SC-dominated wards. It included 71.42% in ward-1, 62.78% in ward-8, 58.83% in ward-17, 59.14% in ward-37, 67.56% in ward-39, 63.36% in ward-40, 56.77% in ward-41, 57.92% in ward-43, 65.19% in ward-45, 49.88% in 53 and 56.07 in ward 54.

The polling percentage was quite high in Muslim-dominated areas as well. Polling recorded in ward 13 was 65.78%, 58.18% in ward-14, 62.79% in ward-27, 58.01% in ward-30, 61.14% in ward-31 and 61.66% in ward-32.
