Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): After two years, Jagdish temple and ISKCON temple in Ujjain took out the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath.

On this occasion the Lord along with elder brother Baldau and sister Subhadra went out to visit the city seated in a chariot on Friday afternoon to know the condition of the devotees. For the last two years, the Yatra could not be taken out due Corona and today when the devotees found their god amongst them, they were overwhelmed.

The Rath Yatra of Jagdish temple of Khati Samaj started from Kartik Chowk and the Rath Yatra of ISKCON temple in Bharatpuri started from Budhwaria. The route of the Rath Yatra of Jagdish Temple was from Karthik Chowk to Dharamshala, Dhaba Road, Telivada, Kanthal, Chhatri Chowk, Gopal Mandir, Patni Baazar and it culminated again at Jagdish Mandir.

When ISKCON devotees came out on the streets chanting “Hare Rama, Hare Krishna”, people were left in awe. Devotees competed to pull the chariot of Lord Jagannath, the God of joy. It took more than four hours for the Rath to be pulled from Budhwariya to the ISKCON temple with the help of a cotton rope. It travelled through Kanthal intersection, Nayesadak, Daulatganj, Malipura, Freeganj overbridge, Tower Chowk and on to Dewas Road. Devotees thronged the route to catch a glimpse of the Lord. The worshipers from ISKCON who were with the Rath Yatra presented melodious hymns and kept sweeping the road in front of the chariot all the way. The Yatra reached the ISKCON temple at around 7 pm and the chariot entered the premises decorated on the lines of the Gundicha temple of Puri. After the worship, prasad was distributed to the devotees and hundreds of people took the prasad.
