UCC Waste Disposal: 'MP Government Will Inform Court About Public Sentiments,' Says VD Sharma

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): As anger grows against the disposal of Union Carbide waste at Madhya Pradesh's Pithampur, BJP state president VD Sharma here on Saturday assured the protestors that the party led government is with public sentiments and will convey their concerns to the court.

According to information, state president Sharma met MPs, MLAs, public representatives, district presidents and workers from Indore division and asked them to make people aware of Congress dirty tactics over the issue.

At a presser, the BJP state chief alleged that Congress is misleading the public regarding UCC waste issue for political gains.

'Congress was the root cause, now misleading public'

“The then governments of Congress are responsible for the gas tragedy. Congress party is at the root of UCC waste,” he said.  He stated that the BJP government is just adhering to the court’s directives over UCC issue.

“BJP workers will approach public and inform them about the real situation. They will tell them that this waste, if it was, will be disposed of under the supervision of scientists,” he added.  

Urban development and housing minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said that the people of Pithampur and surrounding areas have to be saved from the misleading propaganda of the opposition.
