Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Government Medical Collegeconcluded a two-day workshop on robotic surgery held on July 18 and 19.

The workshop spotlighted the transformative role of advanced technology in modern surgical procedures and was conducted under the guidance of dean and patron Dr Arvind Ghanghoria.

Organised by the Departments of Surgery, Urosurgery, and Obstetrics & Gynaecology in collaboration with the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), Indore City Chapter, the event aimed to enhance surgical skills and hands-on expertise in robotic techniques.

The program featured live demonstrations, hands-on training sessions, and expert lectures, providing participants with in-depth insights into cutting-edge surgical robotics.The chief guest of the workshop was Justice Vijay Kumar Shukla, while Dr RK Mathur was present as the guest of honour.

At the closing ceremony, dean Dr Arvind Ghanghoria emphasised the growing relevance of robotic surgery in the medical field.

“Robotic surgery is poised to define the future of surgical practice. It is more precise, less invasive, and offers faster recovery than traditional methods,” he said.

“This innovation is not just beneficial for patients, but also empowers surgeons with enhanced control and efficiency. It will soon become an integral part of medical treatment,” he added.

Dr Ghanghoria added that such workshops greatly benefit medical professionals, resident doctors, and students by helping them understand the integration of robotic technology into surgical practice marking a significant step forward for the future of healthcare in India.
