Thieves decamp with tyres worth Rs 8L from showroom

INDORE : Thieves struck at a tyre showroom and took away tyres worth Rs 8 lakh just about 100 meters away from Lasudia police station here in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.

Police have registered a case and started an investigation. The incident took place at Adhunik tyres, a showroom of four wheeler vehicles tyres in Dewas Naka area.

Showroom owner Dinesh Agrawal, a resident of Mahalakshami Nagar, told Free Press that he closed the showroom at around 8 pm on Wednesday and the theft was discovered when he and employees came to open showroom on Thursday morning.

The locks were broken and shutter was down. They found goods were in disarray there and immediately informed the police.

Upon receiving information, a team of police were reached there and investigated the spot and registered a case against unidentified thieves. The showroom is situated about 100 meters from the police station but the police were unaware about the incident.

Around 55 tyres were stolen which were costs Rs 8 lakh and no other goods were stolen from there, Agrawal added. Police have registered a case against unknown thieves and were investigating the matter.
