Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The documentary “The Renaissance Man”, based on the life and journey of Rajya Sabha member, eminent senior advocate and social worker Vivek Tankha, will be featured at the New York Film Festival on June 21 and will also be screened in London.
This was announced by renowned filmmaker Ajay Chitnis, the producer and director of the film, during a press conference held at the Indore Press Club.
Chitnis shared that he has produced over 150 documentaries on some of India’s most prominent personalities over the past 25 years. However, he said he was personally inspired by Vivek Tankha’s life and dedication to public service, which motivated him to make this documentary. The film is titled “Narmadaputra” in Hindi.
The documentary portrays Tankha’s early life struggles, his relentless commitment to public welfare, and his medical outreach efforts through “Rahat” camps for underprivileged children and the needy.
It also highlights his legal advocacy on significant national issues, his humanitarian aid through Rotary during the COVID-19 pandemic and other crises, and his initiatives to strengthen the judicial system. His political contributions are also extensively featured.
The film has already been screened in Delhi, Mumbai, Bhopal, and Pune, where it received widespread acclaim. Former deputy solicitor general Anshuman Srivastava announced that the film will soon be screened in Indore as well.
