Indore: The SVEEP ( Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation program), run by the district administration yielded results in the recently- held Assembly elections. As compared to last Assembly elections held in 2008, this Assembly election witnessed a 3 per cent jump in voting in the district.
Also, there has been a considerable increase in polling in urban areas across various constituencies of the district. In previous elections, a total 67.85 per cent voting was registered while in the recent election, 70.61 per cent voting voting has been registered.
In Indore- I, 64.6 percent votes are cast this year against previous election’s 61.1 percent.
In Indore- II, 65.12 percent votes are cast this year against previous election’s 61.9 percent.
In Indore- III, 67.71 percent votes are cast this year against previous election’s 65.59 percent.
In Indore- IV, 67.79 percent votes are cast this year against previous election’s 59.71 percent.
In Indore- V, 66.85 percent votes are cast this year against previous election’s 62.31 percent.
In Rau, 72.71 percent votes are cast this year against previous election’s 69.62 percent.
In Mhow, 78.15 percent votes are cast this year against previous election’s 77.09 percent.
In Sanver, 77.71 percent votes are cast this year against previous election’s 73.85 percent.
In Depalpur, 80.65 percent votes are cast this year against previous election’s 79.47 percent.
Review meeting held
After voting in all the constituencies of the district, a constituency- wise review was held at Nehru Stadium on Tuesday. The task was performed in the presence of election commission’s observers and concerning candidates. Returning offices were also present in the meeting. The review meeting is held for discussion over the complaints received from candidates and action taken on these complaints regarding voting.
