Speed up loan sanctioning to beneficiaries: Tripathi

Indore: DISTRICT collector Aakash Tripathi during district- level advisory and review committee meeting at the Collectorate, on Monday directed banks and officials to speed up approval of cases and release loans under the selfemployment schemes and residential mission.

Zila Panchayat CEO Ashish Singh and senior bank officials were present on the occasion. It was observed during the meeting that the position of distribution of loan is deplorable under the “ Chief Minister outh Self Employment Scheme”. Against a target of 2125 beneficiaries, only 181 cases were approved. The Industry Department had sent sufficient number of cases to banks, but the latter did not approve loan cases.

During review of the Chief Minister’s residential mission, it was found that the progress in this case is quite slow. Against a target of 6,660, banks have approved loan on 2847 cases only while released loan only to 331 beneficiaries so far. Directives were released to hold camps for distribution of loans.

Banks were directed to approve cases and release loan under the Kesh Shilpi scheme. A target of benefiting 335 beneficiaries has been set.Regarding Khadi Gramodhyog Department, banks were directed to approve all the cases.The district collector expressed dissatisfaction at the slow approval rate and disbursement of loans in government schemes by Punjab National Bank.

Other banks that were found slow in government schemes include UCO Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, and others Dissatisfaction was expressed at District Training Centre’s poor state of affairs in imparting training under various self employment schemes of the government. It was observed in the meeting that if training is not imparted then how the beneficiaries will start their own work.The district training center has imparted training only to 150 beneficiaries under the youth self employment scheme.
