Sonkatch (Madhya Pradesh): The additional session court here in Sonkatch has issued a notice to the Returning office (RO) to scrutinise the offline nomination form of Bhuri Bi.

Reportedly, Bhuri B was contesting the election for Ward-8 of Sonkatch as an independent candidate. During the review of the nomination, an objection was raised by another candidate that Bhuri B's offline form does not have the signature of the proposer Abrar, although the online form did have.

After reviewing the offline form, returning officer (RO) Abhishek Singh rejected her form. Bhuri made many appeals to the RO that the signature of the proposer is present on the online form, but RO ignored it.

In the end, she filed a petition at the court with the help of advocate Tej Bahadur Singh Baghel and Judge Arvind Goyal accepted her petition. During the hearing on Wednesday, judge Arvind said that the off-line applications were canceled by the Returning Officer, but RO did not review the online application and did not even reject it, which is a violation of the Urban Bodies Election Code. Regarding this, an order was issued to RO and involved candidates to inspect the Bhuri online form within two days.

On the other hand, the second phase of the three-tier panchayat elections will be held on July 1. For this, on Thursday, the polling parties had left with voting material to their respective polling booths. At the same time, ARO Tehsildar Jitendra Verma reached the excellent school on Wednesday to inspect the voting material distribution system and the other arrangements. Notably, 184 polling stations have been set up for 66-gram panchayats and 20 districts of Sonkatch.
