Indore : Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) acting vice chancellor Prof Ashutosh Mishra appointed heads in two teaching departments on Thursday.

While Prof Ashok Sharma has been made head of School of Chemical Sciences, Dr Sonali Nargunde has been given charge of School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Appointment on top post of the School of Chemical Sciences necessitated as Prof Rajendra Prasad retired on Thursday.

As per rotation norms, the headship should have gone to Prof AB Bajaj who was senior to Sharma but as the former refused to take up the responsibility, the acting vice chancellor appointed Prof Sharma as head of School of Chemical Sciences.

Prof Sharma has been looking after headship of School of Journalism and Mass Communication ever since Prof Maan Singh Parmar had been appointed as vice chancellor of a journalism university in Raipur.

Prof Sharma resigned from headship of School of Journalism and Mass Communication after he was entrusted responsibility of School of Chemical Sciences.

To fill the void, Mishra appointed Dr Nargunde as incharge head of School of Journalism and Mass Communication till next order.
