Indore: A major linking train between Indore and Gujarat, Train No 19309 Ahmedabad-Indore Shanti Express reached here 3.35 hour behind scheduled time, on Tuesday due to engine failure at Ahmedabad. The late arrival also delayed Indore-Udaipur Express.

Western Railway Ratlam Division PRO Pradip Sharma said as per the report a technical fault detected in the engine of the train at the source station and the train reached here late after changing its engine. According to railways sources, the train was running more than behind schedule till Ujjain. Later, one hour was covered but despite this effort it reached Indore at 10.05 hour, a delay of 3.035 hours.

However, the delay of Shanti-Express also delayed Train No. 19309 Indore-Udaipur Express. The train departed at 11.30 am with a delay of 4 hour. According to official information in view of increasing number of passengers additional coaches were attached with some trains— one AC-III in Malwa Express, one sleeper class in Indore-Jabalpur Express and one sleeper coach in Shanti Express.
