Indore: Investigation of the Commercial Tax Department for the jewellery recovered from the parking lot of the city airport would be completed soon. But, the investigation of the Income Tax Department would take some time.
According to a highly- placed source in the CT Department, its investigation is almost over and it is waiting for the Income Tax Department to complete its probe.
In view of Model Code of Conduct, the I- T Department is the nodal agency in this matter. The final valuation of the seized goods would be ascertained only after completion of investigations by both the departments and accordingly the fine would be decided.
In a joint action, both the departments seized an air cargo, containing gold ornaments, from the parking lot of the city airport on Sunday last.
