Sanawad: Indore divisional commissioner Dr Pawan Sharma and other officials inspected the samadhi of Shrimant Bajirao Peshwa in Raverkhedi village near Sanawad tehsil in Khargone district.
The inspection was taken up as at the behest of tourism department administration is preparing a roadmap to develop Bajirao Peshwa's Samadhi site as a major tourist destination in Nimar region.
Sharma took information about the efforts made so far and the affected conditions of Mandaleshwar proposed dam and Samadhi Sthal from Sardar Sarovar Project.
Anugrah P shared details about Omkareshwar project and the measures to reach the Samadhi site during flood and rescue measures.
SDM Anukul Jain shared details about the land of Samadhi site, the acquisition of land for development works and current status of the proposed work. District panchayat CEO Gaurav Benal was present.
Proposed tasks
Shrimant Bajirao Peshwa Memorial Foundation member Vivek Bhatore shared the details of proposed work. He told commissioner Sharma that an Intervention Center, Nokavihar, Sainik School, Museum and a 28 feet statue will be developed here. The emphasis will be on the study of the war strategy of Bajirao Peshwa in Sainik School.
The war strategy of Bajirao Peshwa is taught in America. Bakwan, Gangatakhedi, Dhareshwar and Omkareshwar will be connected by boating. In the museum, statues of Bajirao Peshwa and tableaus about the wars fought by him and the subedars appointed by him will be kept.
Vision of tourism department
Under the proposed development and beautification of MP Tourism Department entrance gate, tourism facilitation centre, parking and landscaping, gate wall, stone benches pathway will be developed. Cost of proposed work is Rs 29.91 crore.
