Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Indore MP Shankar Lalwani has demanded launch of Namo Vande Bharat sleeper trains from Indore to New Delhi, Jaipur and Ahmedabad, citing need for direct and faster rail connectivity to these key cities. According to him, such routes are vital for boosting business, education, tourism and employment opportunities in the region.

Lalwani met Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav in New Delhi on Wednesday, on the sidelines of the ongoing Parliament session. During the meeting, he discussed in detail the current status of railway infrastructure projects around Indore and urged Minister to accelerate their progress.

He pressed for the early commencement of Indore–Manmad new rail line project and requested immediate initiation of work on the proposed railway overbridge at Kesarbagh railway crossing. He also urged the Minister to give priority to construction of another overbridge at Chandravatiganj in Sanwer, which has been pending. In addition, Lalwani sought early approval for train stoppages at Gautampura railway station to improve local connectivity.

Minister Ashwini Vaishnav took prompt cognisance of all the demands raised by MP and assured that appropriate and quick action would be taken.
