Indore (Madhya Pradesh): As many as 10% more shakhas of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) have been established in Malwa Prant over the past year, bringing the total to 4,636 shakhas across the region. This includes 881 Bal Shakhas and 150 Mahavidyalaya Vidyarthi Shakhas at 346 locations.
The expansion saw an addition of 403 shakhas compared to last year. To facilitate this growth, 9,059 volunteers worked as ‘Vistarak’ across 12,170 villages, dedicating all seven days of the week to strengthening RSS activities in the region.
This information was shared by Dr. Prakash Shastri, Malwa PrantSanghachalak of RSS, during a press conference in Indore on Wednesday. The media briefing focused on the key takeaways from the three-day All India Representative Meeting of RSS, held from March 21 to 23 in Chennahalli near Bengaluru.
Dr. Shastri also presented the annual report and discussed resolutions passed during the conference. During the event, it was highlighted that 89,706 service activities related to education, healthcare, self-reliance and social awareness are currently being carried out across the country.
Volunteers at 1,084 locations have worked to eliminate social practices such as temple entry restrictions and water source discrimination. The Uttar Pradesh and Uniongovernments were also appreciated for their efficient management of the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh.
Tribute to Devi Ahilyabai Holkar
To commemorate the 300th birth anniversary of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, 21,778 programmes were organised across the country, witnessing participation from 27.97 lakh people.
Various organisations celebrated her contributions through lectures, theatrical performances, documentaries, statue installations, temple cleanups and river conservation initiatives. Dr. Shastri said that these efforts were aimed at spreading awareness about Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai’s legacy and inspiring future generations.
