Indore : In a sensational loot at a shop close to a police post, robbers stabbed a manager and looted Rs 3 lakh in Chhoti Gwaltoli area on Monday night. The incident took place at Nasiya Road when three unidentified miscreants intercepted Mahendra Jain, a manager of the Nasiya Dharmshala and tried to snatch a bag containing cash from him at knife point.

When Mahendra resisted their move by firmly holding knife of a robber, the other assaulted him with sharp-edged weapon on the back injuring him critically. The robbers fled with Rs 3 lakh with in few minutes.

The spot where the crime was committed is situated near a police post and a police are regularly seen checking at an adjacent intersection in evening hours. The incident created sensation in the area and a large number of traders reached the spot. The profusely bleeding victim Mahendra was taken to Gokuldas Hospital where his condition was stated stable.

SP East OP Tripathi also reached the hospital and held talks with the injured. However, despite an intensive search operation in the area, no clue was found about the robbers. Reliable sources claimed that one robber was nabbed but police denied the detention.

It’s noteworthy that during a fortnight over a dozen loot and stabbing incidents took place in various parts of the city and the serial crimes have instilled a fear among the people about their security.
