Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Margaret MacLeod, US State Department’s Hindustani spokesperson, said that people of Indore are proud of the city’s cleanliness and want to protect it. She said she is deeply touched by the hospitality she has received in the city.

Margaret was talking to media here at Press Club on Thursday. Press Club president Arvind Tiwari welcomed her and her associates. While replying to questions about Bangladesh, she said that we are carefully keeping a watch over reports coming from Bangladesh and the US Government is concerned about the developments there and we will share our concerns with all our partners and also the interim government of Bangladesh.

She added that everyone has a right to live according to their religion. On why US government is supporting Ukraine, she said that we believe that Russian government is waging war against people of Ukraine which is totally against the fundamental principles of United Nations.

Russia is overlooking the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine. Regarding the war between Israel and Hamas, she said that the US is interested in ensuring that Palestinians get basic humanitarian aid and they are persuading Israel to agree to it.
