Ratlam: Agricultural sector's contribution in the national GDP has risen to 18 to 20% from 13% during BJP Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Farmers' income in the country will be doubled by 2022 for which every possible effort is being made by the Union Government. This was claimed by national vice president BJP Kisan Morcha Bansilal Gurjar today while speaking as chief speaker at the online 'Chintan' session organized by the District BJP unit on 'Reforms in the Agriculture sector and achievements'.

BJP Kisan Morcha leader Gurjar alleged that during Congress rule in the country due to anti farmers policy ,contribution of Agricultural sector in the national GDP had gone down to 13%. He said that there was a time when Agricultural sector was contributing 62% of the national GDP but policies of British regime and after independence Congress policies were responsible for the decline in the role of Agricultural sector in national GDP. He claimed that during BJP rule this trend has reversed and again Agriculture sectorís share in the national GDP has gone up. Since 2014 Union government has taken many decisions to uplift the agricultural sector which have yielded positive results strengthening financial condition of the farmers as well.

Gurjar asserted that new Agricultural law has provided immense opportunities to farmers to become economically sound and will prove revolutionary to further bring up the status of Agriculture sector. He alleged that so called farmers agitation was based on the political motives and being fuelled only for taking political benefits. On the contrary, tremendous opportunities will be now available to the farmers to sell their produce at the best market price due to new agricultural law.

In the virtually held programme, District BJP president Rajendra Singh Lunera, BJP leaders Nirmal Kataria,Prem Upadhyay, Arun Rao, BJP bloc presidents, office bearers took part. State general secretary Bhagwandas Sabanani conducted the programme while state incharge ëE Chintan sessioní Vijay Dubey gave vote of thanks.
